A systemic, selective post-emergence herbicide for controlling annual and perennial grass weeds in soybean and sunflower fields.
Description
Targeted control of grass weeds in soy and sunflower crops
When perennial grasses like couch grass or annual weeds like barnyard grass threaten your yields, systemic control is essential. The herbicide Kelt, EC, developed by Ukravit Science Park, is a selective, post-emergence solution designed to protect soybeans and sunflowers without compromising the health of the crop.
Practical application and performance
- Selective action: The active ingredient, fluazifop-P-butyl, focuses exclusively on grass species, ensuring crop safety for broad-leaved varieties.
- Systemic efficacy: As a foliar-applied herbicide, Kelt is absorbed quickly by the leaves and travels throughout the plant to the roots. This stops lipid synthesis, effectively killing the weeds from the inside out.
- Flexible dosage: Depending on weed pressure, the rate varies from 0.5 to 1.0 L/ha for annual grasses, and 1.0 to 2.0 L/ha for more persistent perennial species.
In the field, Kelt is used as an insurance application to correct weed control gaps. The best results are achieved when weeds are in their active growth stage—ideally the 2-4 leaf stage for annual grasses and up to 15 cm in height for perennials. Because it is a systemic herbicide, it ensures that even the underground parts of perennial grasses are controlled.
Formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate, the product is easy to handle and mix. With a hazard class of 3 and a recommendation of one application per season, it provides a straightforward, highly efficient way to keep fields clean during critical growth stages.
