By targeting the aryloxyphenoxypropionate pathway, the herbicide effectively inhibits acetyl-CoA carboxylase, which leads to the cessation of lipid synthesis in target weeds, causing rapid physiological collapse.

The Role of the Safener

A critical technical feature of «Lastik Extra» is the inclusion of cloquintocet-mexyl. This safener accelerates the metabolic degradation of the active substance within the crop tissues (wheat and barley), allowing the plant to neutralize the herbicide before it hinders growth. In contrast, target weeds lack this detoxification mechanism, which ensures the high selectivity of the product. This biochemical safety buffer allows for reliable application without risking phytotoxicity to the crop.
