Technological features of the "Legrand" herbicide

The efficiency of the "Legrand" preparation is based on the active ingredient nicosulfuron (40 g/L). As a systemic herbicide with selective action, it operates through the leaf surface, rapidly penetrating the meristematic tissues of weeds. Due to its suspension concentrate formulation, the active ingredient particles have an optimal size for reliable adhesion to the leaf cuticle, minimizing losses during application.

Mechanism of weed suppression

Nicosulfuron blocks the enzyme acetolactate synthase, which leads to an immediate cessation of cell division and weed growth. The practical value of "Legrand" lies in its selectivity regarding maize, which is capable of metabolizing the substance, converting it into an inactive form.

• Spectrum of control: Effectively suppresses quackgrass, barnyard grass, foxtails (yellow and green), as well as a wide range of dicotyledons, including common ragweed, redroot pigweed, field mustard, and shepherd's purse.
• Application rules: The product is used as a post-emergence herbicide. The application rate is 1–1.25 L/ha, which, if weed growth phases are respected, guarantees crop cleanliness with a single treatment per season.

Safety and operational characteristics

A hazard class of 3 implies moderate toxicity, which requires standard safety measures when working with sprayers. The joint efforts of production facilities in China and Ukraine ensure quality control at all stages of synthesis and formulation. It is important to note that "Legrand" is strictly a post-emergence solution designed to eradicate already germinated harmful plants, allowing for flexible timing of treatment depending on the phytosanitary situation in the field.
