Professional herbicide combination with a surfactant for superior control of broad-leaved weeds in sunflower fields.
Description
Advanced weed control for sunflower: Mistard + Alfalip Extra
Achieving high yields in sunflower production requires robust control of broad-leaved weeds during early developmental stages. «Alfa Smart Agro» provides a comprehensive solution for this purpose: the selective post-emergence herbicide «Mistard» bundled with the adjuvant «Alfalip Extra».
The active ingredient, Tribenuron-methyl, is a systemic herbicide belonging to the sulfonylurea class. It works by inhibiting the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, effectively halting cell division and leading to the rapid decay of sensitive weeds. By integrating «Alfalip Extra», the efficacy of the spray is significantly enhanced; this surfactant reduces the surface tension of the droplet, ensuring better coverage and penetration through the waxy cuticles of weeds, even in challenging environmental conditions.
Key weed control spectrum
The system is specifically designed to manage a broad range of agricultural pests that compete with sunflower plants, including:
- Ambrosia artemisiifolia (Common ragweed);
- Amaranthus retroflexus (Redroot pigweed) and Chenopodium album (Common lambsquarters);
- Sinapis arvensis (Wild mustard) and Raphanus raphanistrum (Wild radish);
- Capsella bursa-pastoris (Shepherd's purse);
- Stellaria media (Common chickweed) and Galium aparine (Cleavers).
Usage and Formulation
«Mistard» comes in the form of water-dispersible granules, making it easy to mix and apply. It acts as a selective (systemic) herbicide that is safe for sunflower hybrids bred for resistance to this specific active ingredient. The application protocol limits the product to one treatment per season. With an application rate of Alfalip Extra between 0.5 and 2.0 L/ha, growers can ensure maximum absorption of the herbicide. This solution represents a balance between high chemical activity and safe handling within the 3rd hazard class classification.
