A professional desiccant solution designed for uniform ripening of peas and optimized harvesting.
Description
Desiccation of peas: technical overview of Namib, SL
Uniform maturation of pea crops is the key to minimizing losses during harvesting. Namib, SL (Soluble Concentrate) by Inpest Ukraine is a contact herbicide-desiccant designed to terminate plant vegetation, standardize moisture content, and facilitate efficient harvest operations.
Mechanism of Action and Technical Design
The product functions as a non-selective contact herbicide. Unlike systemic products, it does not translocate through the plant's vascular system, but immediately disrupts cellular membranes upon contact. This localized action is crucial for desiccation, as it forces the drying process of the green mass without negatively affecting the quality of the seeds.
Key Benefits for Field Management:
- Improved Harvest Efficiency: By promoting even drying, the product reduces the load on the combine's threshing and separation systems, significantly minimizing grain damage.
- Weed Suppression: Beyond drying the crop, Namib acts on weeds that might interfere with harvest, ensuring a clean and steady flow of material.
- Formulation Quality: The aqueous solution (SL) is highly stable, ensuring consistent droplet distribution during leaf application.
Application Guidelines
Namib is intended for a single application with a recommended rate of 2.0 to 3.0 L/ha. To achieve the best results, it should be applied when the pods have turned brown, corresponding to a seed moisture level of approximately 30–35%. Classified under hazard class 2, the product requires strict adherence to standard safety protocols during handling and application to ensure operator protection.

By type of action
Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |

Herbicides are classified according to application timing into pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides. Pre-emergent herbicides are mostly soil-applied or granular formulations applied before the emergence of crop plants. They are applied either pre-sowing (during pre-sowing cu... |
