A two-component herbicide for systemic control of perennial dicot weeds in maize crops.
Description
Synergy of Components: How Pyramidal Works
The efficiency of the Pyramidal, WG herbicide is based on the combination of two active substances: dicamba and nicosulfuron. This combination allows for a comprehensive solution to weed problems in maize fields by affecting the physiological processes of weeds at the cellular level.
Technical Breakdown
- Nicosulfuron belongs to the sulfonylurea class. It blocks the acetolactate synthase enzyme, which immediately halts cell division in weed meristematic tissues. Consequently, growth stops and the plant dies.
- Dicamba acts as an auxin-like herbicide. It disrupts the hormonal balance and metabolic processes within the plant, triggering uncontrolled tissue growth, leaf curling, and the eventual death of the root system.
The combination of systemic and foliar action ensures high selectivity. The preparation rapidly penetrates the leaf surface and translocates via the phloem and xylem, making it indispensable for controlling perennial dicot weeds that contact-based analogues cannot manage.
Application Features
The product is formulated as water-dispersible granules. This technology ensures high stability of the spray solution and prevents dust formation during mixing. Unlike powders, granules distribute evenly in the sprayer tank, guaranteeing a uniform concentration of the active ingredient on every square meter of the field.
The recommended application rate of 0.5 to 1.0 L/ha (depending on weed pressure) allows for flexible adjustment of protection based on specific field conditions. As a post-emergence herbicide, Pyramidal is applied once per season, which significantly reduces the pesticide load on the soil and optimizes logistics costs.

By type of action
By type of action
Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |

By application method
Based on the method of application, herbicides are divided into foliar, soil, and root herbicides. Foliar herbicides are applied to vegetative plants and act through their above-ground organs. The main method of application for such preparations is spraying using sprayers or airp... |

Herbicides are classified according to application timing into pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides. Pre-emergent herbicides are mostly soil-applied or granular formulations applied before the emergence of crop plants. They are applied either pre-sowing (during pre-sowing cu... |
