Unlike soil-applied alternatives, this product acts through the leaf surface, making it an indispensable tool when weeds have already passed the seedling stage and the crop requires immediate protection.

Mechanism of action: the molecular level

The active ingredient nicosulfuron belongs to the sulfonylurea chemical class. Its key technical advantage is the inhibition of the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme. In practical terms, this means that as soon as the plant absorbs the product, the synthesis of vital amino acids (valine and isoleucine) is blocked. Consequently, cell division at the weed's growth points stops within hours of application. Visible signs of death, such as chlorosis and necrosis, appear within 3–5 days, with complete elimination of competitors occurring within two weeks.
