A three-component systemic herbicide for effective control of grass and broadleaf weeds in maize.
Description
Synergy of Three Components Against Grass and Broadleaf Weeds
Sufora Extra by Solantis Ukraine is a systemic post-emergence herbicide designed for optimal weed control in maize crops. The technological edge of this product lies in its combination of three active ingredients that disrupt multiple metabolic pathways within weed species.
Technical Composition Analysis
The formula integrates three distinct components for maximum efficiency:
- Nicosulfuron: Inhibits the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, effectively stopping cell division and halting the growth of grass weeds, including couch grass (Elymus repens).
- Mesotrione: Inhibits carotenoid biosynthesis. This leads to bleaching (chlorosis) of broadleaf weed tissues, followed by necrosis.
- Triketone: Enhances the action of mesotrione, ensuring deeper penetration into the plant structure even under challenging environmental conditions.
The oil-in-water emulsion formulation is a critical design choice. Unlike standard water-based solutions, this formulation adheres better to the waxy leaf surface, penetrates the cuticle more rapidly, and offers superior rainfastness. This is essential for selective weed control in maize, where high target precision is required without compromising crop safety.
Field Application Insights
With an application rate of 1.0–2.0 L/ha, this herbicide provides comprehensive coverage against annual and perennial grasses, as well as key broadleaf species. Due to its systemic nature, the herbicide translocates through the weed’s vascular system, destroying both the foliage and the root network. Its post-emergence application allows farmers to address weed infestation once it is visible, ensuring efficient resource management and direct impact on weeds competing with the corn crop.

By type of action
Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |
