The efficacy of Unimark is rooted in metribuzin, a chemical belonging to the triazine group. Unlike contact herbicides, metribuzin acts as a systemic photosynthetic inhibitor. It disrupts the transport of electrons within the chloroplasts of weeds, effectively starving them of energy. By applying it as a pre-emergence herbicide, farmers can create a long-lasting chemical barrier in the soil that targets both annual broad-leaved and grass weeds at the germination stage.

Engineering and Formulation Excellence

• Water Dispersible Granules (WDG): This formulation is engineered for high stability and ease of mixing. The granules dissolve rapidly in water, preventing nozzle clogging and ensuring a uniform concentration throughout the application process.
• Selectivity Mechanism: Unimark is designed for selective control. Crops like soybeans, potatoes, corn, and tomatoes possess the internal metabolic capability to degrade metribuzin into non-toxic compounds, allowing for effective weed management without compromising crop health.
• Soil Residual Activity: As a soil-applied herbicide, it provides a residual effect that remains active for 4 to 8 weeks, depending on soil type, humus content, and precipitation levels.

A finely textured seedbed without excessive debris ensures optimal contact between the herbicide and the soil surface.
