When the ground beetle hits the field or there is a massive infestation of cereal flies and aphids, there is no time for experiments. «Gasilo KE» by «Zhenjiang Agrin Company Ltd.» is the tool I keep in my arsenal for these critical moments. The main highlight of this insecticide is the synergy of three active ingredients: lambda-cyhalothrin, dimethoate, and piperonyl butoxide. It is not just a standard pesticide, but a comprehensive solution for winter wheat and barley.

Operational insights

Working with the product is straightforward, provided safety protocols are followed: it is classified as Hazard Class 2, so full PPE is mandatory. The emulsion concentrate mixes well, remains stable in the spray tank, and does not clog nozzles if the stock solution is prepared correctly. Its systemic action allows the product to penetrate plant tissues, which is crucial for controlling hidden pests like cereal flies.

• Dosage and efficacy: A rate of 0.5–1.0 l/ha covers most field scenarios. I use the maximum rate for high pest density and half-dose for preventive measures.
• Cycle management: A maximum of two treatments per season. Remember the 30-day pre-harvest interval; plan your spray schedule carefully to comply with safety requirements.
• Target spectrum: «Gasilo KE» is highly effective against the sunn pest. The addition of piperonyl butoxide, which blocks the protective enzymes of insects, provides significantly higher efficacy against resistant populations compared to standalone pyrethroids.

My recommendation: perform spraying in the evening or on cloudy days. The systemic effect provides long-lasting protection, but direct contact with the pest remains the priority for a quick knock-down result.
