Description
Zehavit is a medium-maturing grain legume with high productivity and resistance to diseases and pests. This variety was developed in Israel and has been successfully grown in Ukraine for more than four years, demonstrating excellent adaptability to various agro-climatic conditions, especially in middle and warm regions. The vegetation period ranges from 95 to 130 days depending on conditions, allowing for stable and early harvests.
Zehavit is characterized by large, light beige or light yellow seeds with a calibre of 6 to 9 mm, with approximately 70% of seeds being 8 mm and larger. Seed shape is between rhombic and round. Protein content in the grain reaches approximately 30%, and oil content ranges from 5 to 7%, making this nut variety valuable for both food and feed applications. Plant height varies from 45 to 55 cm, with lower pods attached at a level of 20-24 cm, contributing to resistance against lodging.
One of the key advantages of the Zehavit variety is its high yield and resistance to diseases such as ascochitosis and fusarium. Yield in Ukraine reaches 3.6 to 10 tons per hectare, confirming its stability and efficiency. Sowing rate is 500,000 to 600,000 seeds per hectare. Due to its qualities and adaptability, Zehavit nut is popular among farmers aiming to achieve high-quality and stable yields.
