Description
The spring oat variety "Pokrov 2" was developed by scientists from the Urals and the Far East through cross-breeding foreign and domestic varieties, including Garland (USA), "Mestny" (Ecuador), and "Taeyzhnik". This medium-maturity variety is distinguished by large grains with low hulling, which increases its nutritional value. The plant is tall, with a semi-upright bush and a medium-length head, has a 1000-grain mass within the range of 32-41 grams and a grain protein content of up to 11.7%. The average growing season lasts from 76 to 88 days, corresponding to the medium-maturity type.
"Pokrov 2" is characterized by high yield - on average 4.9 tons of grain per hectare, which is 12% higher compared to the traditional variety "Universal-1". The variety is resistant to main oat diseases, such as crown rust and loose smut, and also demonstrates drought resistance and lodging resistance. In field trials, leaf diseases were not observed, which confirms its reliability and adaptability.
This variety is recommended for growing in the climatic conditions of the Far East region of Russia, specifically in Amur Oblast and Khabarovsk Krai, but can be successfully cultivated in other regions, including areas with insufficient moisture. "Pokrov 2" is suitable for both grain production and green mass, making it a versatile and profitable choice for agricultural enterprises.

Overall bulb harvest per unit area. Depends on both onion variety characteristics and agronomic practices, fertilizers, and irrigation. Under optimal growing conditions, an onion yield of 100 tons per hectare and above is not considered record-breaking. |
