TULUNSKY 19

TULUNSKY 19 is a medium-maturity spring barley (Avena sativa L.) variety intended for grain-fodder use. The plant is medium-sized, with an erect culm and a semi-compressed two-sided head. The grain is large and covered with a thin husk; the 1000-grain mass ranges from 35 to 44 grams, indicating its high quality. The grain density ranges from 415-575 g/l, and the protein content ranges from 9.8% to 15.6%, making the variety valuable in terms of nutritional properties. The tillering is very weak in this variety, and the leaf sheaths and leaf margins have sparse hairiness, which contributes to good plant resistance to adverse conditions. The variety shows lodging resistance at the level of standard varieties, as well as moderate resistance to diseases such as loose smut, bacterial blight, and red-brown leaf spot. In addition, it shows medium resistance to crown rust, which increases the reliability of cultivation in various climatic conditions. The vegetation period is 65-85 days, which allows for use in regions with a short warm season. TULUNSKY 19 is recommended for cultivation in the East Siberian region, including Irkutsk Oblast, and is included in the State Register for the West Siberian and Far Eastern regions. In terms of yield, the variety demonstrates high figures: the average yield in the region reaches about 25-26 c/ha, and the maximum is over 63 c/ha.
