Description
Bulb mass varies from 52 to 200 grams, while the average weight is usually around 150-200 grams. The variety is characterized by high resistance to downy mildew, which contributes to maintaining plant health and stable yields. Yields in the East Siberian region reach 128-275 centners per hectare, indicating the high productivity of the variety. YERMAK onion stores well, maintaining its qualities for 7-8 months, which allows it to be used for a long time after harvest.
Cultivating the YERMAK variety includes sowing seedlings in February-March or direct sowing in May followed by seedling transplant in April-May. Plant care consists of regular watering, loosening, and weeding. Watering is stopped a month before harvest to allow the bulbs to mature better. Harvest is usually conducted in the second half of August. Due to its taste qualities, high yield, and good storability, YERMAK onion is an excellent choice for home cultivation and use in cooking.
