Description
This variety was developed at the NIISS named after M.A. Lisavensky in the mountainous region of the Altai (Chemal village) by selection among seedlings from open pollination of the 'Manchurian Beauty' variety. Breeders: V.S. Poutov, I.A. Puchkin, G.D. Novikova. Widely grown in gardens of the Altai region and southern Krasnoyarsk region. Included in the State Register in 1988 for the West Siberian region.
Trees are medium-sized with spherical, moderately dense crowns. The main type of fruit formation is bouquet-like clusters. Branches are brown-gray, emerging from skeletal branches at obtuse angles. The trunk is low. Shoots are straight, brown, with numerous stipules. Vegetative buds are conical, fruit buds are rounded. Leaves are medium-sized, 8.5 cm long and 4.5 cm wide, elliptical, with a wedge-shaped base and sharp tip, folded like a boat, without hairs, with serrated edges, green and shiny. Leaf blades are oriented in various directions, irregular. Petiole of medium length, anthocyanic coloration. Each bud contains 2-3 flowers, which bloom before the leaves. Flower corolla is cup-shaped, buds are white, petals are white, oval, small, slightly curled at the edges, free, 7 mm long and 5 mm wide. Stamens 11-14, stigma is positioned above the anthers. Sepals are oval.
Fruits are symmetrical, angular-rounded, with slightly depressed apex and deep depression, 30 mm high and 29 mm in diameter, average weight 14.1 g. The ventral suture is well-defined, medium depth. Main color is dark red, covering color is dark red or burgundy with intense blue waxy coating, creating an overall dark blue, highly attractive coloration covering the entire fruit. Subcutaneous spots are light, barely noticeable, few in number. Skin is not rough. Flesh is pale orange, medium density, juicy, tart-sweet, good flavor. Pit is medium-sized, ribbed, well-formed, semi-detached. Pedicel is short, easily detaches from branches.
Fruits ripen in mid-August. They contain 15.85% dry matter, 8.22% sugars, 1.25% titratable acids, 7.75 mg/100g ascorbic acid, 544 mg/100g P-active substances. Fruit transportability is satisfactory. Variety is of universal use.
Enters fruiting on the 3rd-4th year after planting in a garden using one-year-old saplings. High yield, but fruiting is not regular. Winter hardiness of the tree is high, fruit buds are above average. Not resistant to fruit rot. Slightly affected by clasterosporiosis and fruitworm, significantly damaged by Maslov's fruit fly. Self-incompatible. Of interest in selection for intense fruit color.
Advantages of the variety: high yield, attractive appearance of fruits.
Disadvantages: susceptibility to fruit rot and damage by Maslov's fruit fly.
