Description
This variety was developed by L.A. Sevastyanova, G.E. Osipov, and Z.A. Osipova at the Tatar Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Crops from open-pollinated Zuyuzhinskaya. It is widely grown in Tatarstan and included in the State Register in 2001 for the Volga region.
Tree of medium height with a medium-dense, broadly oval crown. Bark on the trunk is rough and gray; on main branches it is smooth and light brown. Shoots are straight, rarely curved, thin, short, rarely medium length, dark purplish-brown, hairless, with rare small light brown tubercles. Leaves are small, oval, occasionally inversely egg-shaped, green, matte, slightly glossy, smooth, slightly wrinkled, slightly concave, slightly hairy, with a blunt to slightly pointed apex, wedge-shaped, occasionally acute base, bluntly toothed, occasionally doubly bluntly toothed margins, on pigmented, short, occasionally medium length, thin petioles, with lanceolate, small, deciduous stipules. Stipules are medium, occasionally small, sparse, yellow, round, located on petioles, very rarely at leaf base. Flowers are white, small, with narrowly open petals. Stigma is strongly curved, occasionally slightly curved. Stigma tip is positioned above the anthers.
Fruits are small (19.0 g), red-purple, round-ovoid, with weak waxy bloom, rounded apex, small umbilicus at base, weak ventral seam. Skin is difficult to peel, medium thickness, firm. Flesh is yellow, fine-grained-fibrous, medium juiciness and firmness, slightly acidic-sweet, good flavor. Peduncle is medium length and thickness. Detachment is dry. Stone is round-oval, medium, light brown, with bluntly pointed apex and narrowly round base, medium-grooved surface. Stone separates moderately from flesh.
Flowering begins in the third decade of May. It enters fruiting on the 4-5th year after budding. Fruits ripen in the second to third decade of August, containing 16.07% dry matter, 2.21% organic acids, 10.5% sugars, suitable for fresh consumption and processing (compote, jam, jelly).
This variety is medium-yielding, medium-winter-hardy, highly drought-resistant and heat-tolerant, moderately affected by clasterosporiosis, rust, apple aphid, self-sterile, well propagated by budding, green cuttings in artificial mist, medium spring budding. Pollinated by Renkloch Tennykovsky, Yachny.
Advantages of the variety: good flavor, attractive fruit appearance, high drought and heat resistance, well propagated by green cuttings, early fruiting.
