Description
This variety was obtained by crossing Eurasia 21 with the varieties of domestic plum 'Volzhskaya Krasavitsa' and 'Krasnaya Desertnaya'. Originator — All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Selection of Fruit Plants named after I.V. Michurin. Author G.A. Kursakov. Introduced into the State Register in 1988 for the Central Chernozem region.
Tree with a compact spherical crown, moderate growth rate. Crown of medium density and foliage. Shoots slightly curved, dark brown, with rather short internodes of medium thickness. Buds are numerous, gray, short, clearly visible. Buds of medium size, conical, dark brown, not pressed against the shoot, with a pointed apex. Leaves are above average size, oval in shape, with a short pointed apex and oval base, dark green, smooth, matte, leathery. Leaf blade almost flat, slightly concave at the base. Leaf margin serrated, even. Stipules small, round, red, raised, 1-2 per leaf petiole. Petiole of medium length, fairly thick, pigmented. Stipules of medium size, green, lobed, quickly falling off, remaining only at the upper part of the shoot. Flowers of medium size, white, petals rounded, touching each other. Filaments very short, stigma long (twice as long as filaments). Petals greenish in bud stage. Lobing of sepals very fine. Calyx bell-shaped, light green.
Fruits large, average weight 40 g, maximum about 50 g. Fruits oval-round in shape, attractive, dark purple, with strong waxy coating, with clearly visible subcutaneous dots. Fruit apex depressed, pit deep. Equatorial suture deep. Flesh amber-colored, dense, tender, juicy, slightly sour-sweet, pleasant taste, tasting score 4.5 points. Biochemical composition: dry matter — 16.84%, sugars — 7.85%, acids — 1.56%, P-active substances — 200 mg/100g, ascorbic acid — 13.5 mg/100g. Variety for table and technical purposes. Stone oval, medium size, easily separates from flesh. Dorsal suture sharp, ventral broad with clearly visible ridges. Peduncle short, thick, light green.
Trees begin to bear fruit in 3-4 years. Fruit ripens early, simultaneously, at the end of the third decade of July. Yield is good. Winter hardiness of wood and flower buds is high.
Advantages: increased winter hardiness of wood and flower buds, trees of medium size, good annual yield, large, ornamental fruits of early ripening and high taste quality.
