Description
The potato variety Debryansk is a mid-season table variety of Russian selection, intended for cultivation in the Central region. The plant has a low or medium height with a semi-erect form, medium-sized green leaves with slightly wavy edges. Tubers are oval-round in shape with medium-depth eyes, yellow skin and flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 100 to 183 grams, and starch content is 12.7–15.3%, providing good taste and versatility in culinary use, including soups, salads, and frying. The yield of Debryansk variety is high and stable, reaching 161–272 centners per hectare, which exceeds standard varieties Bryansk Novinka and Bronnitsky by 25–48 centners. The maximum registered yield is 292 centners per hectare. Tubers' marketability ranges from 81–96%, and storability reaches 95%, indicating good product preservation during storage. The variety is resistant to several diseases, including potato cancer (pathotype I), as well as late blight, crinkly mosaic, and striped mosaic, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. Due to its characteristics and resistance, Debryansk is a reliable choice for cultivation in the Central region of Russia.
