Description
Yotsuboshi is a Japanese strawberry variety intended for year-round cultivation, including in winter greenhouses. The bushes of this variety are powerful, flat, and well-leafed, with medium green leaves that are slightly wrinkled and hairy on the underside. The berries have a conical shape and weigh between 16 and 21 grams, while under Russian conditions, the maximum mass reached 34 grams. The flesh is light red, with a sour-sweet taste and a strong aroma, making the variety particularly attractive to consumers.
The Yotsuboshi variety is distinguished by high yield, averaging 57 centners per hectare. The berries contain about 10.8% sugars and 0.64% acids, ensuring a harmonious taste and a high tasting score — 4.9 points. Thanks to its taste qualities and aroma, this variety surpasses many Russian counterparts, as confirmed by research and testing results.
In addition, Yotsuboshi is characterized by high resistance to diseases, which facilitates its cultivation and improves crop quality. The variety was bred in Japan in 2013 and registered for cultivation in Russia, including in Khabarovsk. This allows for year-round production of fresh, high-quality berries that meet all technical regulations and market requirements.
