SC 4

SC 4 rootstock is a dwarf clonal variety of domestic selection, based on the parents Borovinka and M-8. Trees grown on this rootstock exhibit growth strength comparable to trees on M9, while possessing a more robust root system, ensuring better soil stability and increased productivity over the years of operation.

Key characteristics include a medium-growth pyramidal bush, a fibrous root system capable of multi-year development. With proper mounding, the rootstock forms a multi-tiered sucker, but in the garden it almost does not produce root suckers, which eases care and increases planting stability. Trees on SC 4 are winter, heat, and drought resistant, and their yield exceeds M9 indicators by 25-40%. Standard runner output reaches up to 252 thousand pcs./ha.

For optimal development, a planting scheme of 5 x 1.5–2.0 m with a distance between rows of 4–5 m is recommended. The rootstock firmly anchors in the soil and does not require constant support. It is compatible with all region-adapted varieties and suitable for the North Caucasus region, where climatic conditions favor its growth and high yield.
