KWS ODEUS

Sorghum KWS ODEUS is a high-yield grain variety characterized by high productivity and suitability for mechanized harvesting. The average yield of this variety is 33-39 c/ha, with potential up to 75 c/ha. The vegetation period of the variety is about 110 days, allowing effective use in various climatic conditions. The plant is low-growing, reaching 120-125 cm in height, which contributes to resistance against lodging and facilitates harvest.

Sorghum KWS ODEUS exhibits high resistance to diseases such as bacterial blight, as well as drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for regions with limited water availability. The 1000-grain weight is 24-28 g, with the grain characterized by high protein content (13.5-13.6%), starch (69-71%) and fat (3.0-3.1%), ensuring its high nutritional value and versatility in applications.

KWS has been engaged in sorghum breeding and multiplication since 2007, focusing particularly on developing varieties with high yield, early maturity, cold tolerance, and lodging resistance. Sorghum is a C4-type plant with high drought tolerance and ranks fifth in global prevalence among cereal crops. KWS's main sorghum breeding regions are in Southern, Southeastern, and Eastern Europe, enabling adaptation of varieties to diverse climatic conditions and market requirements.
