Poor airflow and high-density planting exacerbate the risk of rapid spread, as the fungus easily moves from plant to plant under favorable conditions.

The damage caused by this pathogen can lead to significant economic losses in the ornamental plant trade due to high mortality rates. Integrated pest management strategies are crucial for mitigation:
