Spore dissemination is facilitated by insect vectors, such as fruit flies, and environmental factors like splashing rain or high humidity, which favor yeast growth on damaged plant parts.
Harmfulness and control measures. The economic impact is linked to reduced fruit quality, loss of market value for table grapes, and fermentation issues in wine production. Control strategies include:
