The term Circular areas often refers to the characteristic manifestation of ringspot diseases caused by various plant viruses. These pathogens are obligate parasites consisting of genetic material enclosed in a protein coat, which require a host cell's machinery to replicate and spread throughout the vascular system of the plant.
Ringspot diseases affect a vast array of botanical species, including horticultural crops like tomatoes, peppers, and various fruit trees. The infection is marked by the appearance of concentric chlorotic or necrotic rings on foliage, which significantly disrupts gas exchange and nutrient translocation, ultimately leading to stunted growth and reduced vigor.

The economic impact of ringspot is severe, often resulting in significant yield losses and lower market grade for the harvest. Because there are no curative pesticides for established viral infections, management focuses on minimizing transmission risks. Recommended practices include:
