These plant-parasitic nematodes are characterized by a long, needle-like stylet that allows them to pierce plant roots from the outside and feed on the cell contents, making them significant agricultural pests.

This species primarily targets perennial crops, with a notable economic impact on orchards. Fruit trees, particularly peach and various stone fruits, are highly susceptible to infestation.
