These microscopic organisms are known as ectoparasites that feed on the root systems of various plants. By utilizing their specialized feeding apparatus, they penetrate root cells and extract nutrients, which significantly impairs the plant's ability to absorb water and minerals.

The host range of this pest typically includes a variety of cereal crops, grasses, and occasionally other agricultural plants. The infestation often occurs in the root zone, where these nematodes reside in the soil.
