Neodolichorhynchus microphasmis is a microscopic plant-parasitic nematode classified within the order Tylenchida and the family Dolichodoridae. It functions as an ectoparasite, inhabiting the rhizosphere and feeding on the root tissues of host plants, which causes significant physiological stress to the vegetation.
This species primarily targets a range of cereals and certain vegetable crops. It is particularly prevalent in soils with a sandy texture, as these environments facilitate the movement of the nematode through the soil pore spaces towards the root surface, where feeding occurs.
