Quinisulcius curvus is a plant-parasitic nematode belonging to the order Tylenchida and the family Telotylenchidae. As an obligate parasite, it spends the majority of its life cycle in the soil, utilizing its specialized feeding structure, known as a stylet, to penetrate and feed on the root tissues of various host plants.
The host range of this nematode is quite broad, impacting numerous agricultural crops including cereals, maize, and various grasses. By feeding on root cells, Quinisulcius curvus disrupts the plant's ability to uptake water and nutrients, which significantly impairs physiological processes and overall development of the crop.
Regarding its biology, the life cycle follows a standard pattern consisting of an egg stage, four larval stages, and an adult stage.
