Tylenchorhynchus clarus is a species of microscopic phytoparasitic nematodes belonging to the order Tylenchida and the family Belonolaimidae. These organisms function as ectoparasites, inhabiting the soil rhizosphere and feeding on plant tissues from the exterior. Unlike endoparasitic species, they do not typically penetrate deep into the root cortex, but their feeding activity still causes significant physiological stress.

This pest affects a broad range of agricultural crops, with a particular affinity for cereals, legumes, and various vegetables. It is also known to infest certain grass species, which allows the nematode to persist in the soil even when the primary host crop is not present in the field, complicating the management of agricultural land.

The biology and lifecycle of Tylenchorhynchus clarus are highly dependent on soil environmental conditions, such as moisture and temperature. The nematode undergoes four larval stages before reaching sexual maturity.
