These microscopic worms inhabit the soil and are classified as ectoparasites, meaning they feed on the root systems of plants from the exterior without permanently embedding their bodies into the host tissue.
This species primarily attacks a variety of agricultural and horticultural crops, with a particular affinity for fruit trees, vines, and woody ornamentals. Due to their ability to survive in the soil for extended periods even in the absence of a host, they pose a serious challenge to long-term crop productivity.
