Description
Cyflufenamid is a highly effective active ingredient of fungicidal action belonging to the amidoxime chemical class. This compound is specifically developed to combat pathogens causing diseases within the powdery mildew group on various agricultural crops.
The mode of action is based on inhibiting mycelial development, blocking haustoria formation, and preventing fungal sporulation. The substance provides not only a preventive but also a significant curative effect, while also inhibiting further spread of infection due to a strong fumigant effect in the root zone and on the leaf surface.
In agricultural practice, cyflufenamid is most commonly used on cereal crops, vineyards, open and protected ground vegetables, as well as fruit trees. Its primary purpose is to eliminate powdery mildew pathogens, which significantly reduce yield and degrade the quality of marketable produce.
Application features require strict adherence to regulatory guidelines, as the substance is most effective during the early stages of infection. It is noted for its high resistance to rain-washing and a long-lasting protective period, which allows for fewer applications per season even under high disease pressure.
- Extended protective duration (up to 3-4 weeks).
- High efficiency against all types of powdery mildew.
- Vapor phase activity that protects untreated parts of the plant.
- Low application rates per hectare.
When handling cyflufenamid, standard personal protective equipment for skin and respiratory protection must be used. The product is moderately toxic to warm-blooded animals, so it is essential to observe pre-harvest intervals and prevent spray drift into water bodies, as the substance can pose risks to aquatic organisms.
