Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a perennial woody shrub belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family. This crop is globally recognized for its edible, starchy, tuberous roots that serve as a fundamental food staple for millions of people, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions.
