Description
This variety was obtained by pollinating 'Leningradskaya Krasnaya' cherry with 'Zolotaya Lošitskaya' cherry. Originator — All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Crops named after I.V. Michurin. Authors: B.L. Nikitin, G.G. Nikiforova, I.N. Zolotukhina, L.A. Deyneka. The variety was approved for the Central Black Earth region in 1999.
Medium-growing tree with a pyramidal crown of moderate density. Branches are dark red, medium thickness, curved. Buds are large, round-conical, slightly behind the branches. Leaves are light green, medium-sized, elongated and narrow. Margins finely toothed, surface smooth and glossy. Leaf blade slightly concave. Petioles are small, petiole medium length, pigmented. Stigmas medium, 2-3 per flower. Flowers are triple. Style of the pistil is slightly above the stamens. Fruits are mainly produced on cluster branches.
Fruits are large, one-dimensional, average weight 4.5 g, height 16 mm, diameter in two planes 15 mm, roundish, slightly conical shape. Apex is rounded, calyx wide, base without depression, sutural line small, pedicel medium length with slight detachment. Fruit color dark red, no skin spots. Flesh is dark red, tender, juicy. Juice is red, taste sweet, taste rating 4.7 points. Stone is small — 0.35 g, constitutes 9.8% of fruit weight. Fruits contain dry matter — 19.53%, sugars — 17.55%, titratable acids — 0.91%, P-active catechins — 375 mg/100g, sugar-acid ratio 19%, ascorbic acid — 10.4 mg/100g.
Enters fruiting at 5-6 years. Flowering and ripening periods are early. Partially self-fertile. High productivity. Resistant to diseases and pests.
Tree, branches, and generative buds are resistant to winter frosts; flower buds resistant to spring frosts. Drought- and heat-tolerant. Universal use. Suitable for commercial cultivation and processing.
Advantages: high ecological resistance, early fruit ripening, excellent taste, universal use.
