Description
Introduced at the Dubovskoy Support Station of the NV NIIHS by pollination with Zhukovskaya pollen mixture of cherry varieties (Krupnoplodnaya Gorshkova, Kentskaya, Krasa Severa). Authors: R.V. Korneev, L.K. Zhukova. Introduced into the State Register in 1993 for the Nizhnevolsky region.
Trees of medium growth vigor, at 8 years old, they reach 2 m in height and 2.5 m in crown diameter. The crown is round and slightly raised, sparse. Main branches are curved and branch off the trunk at an angle close to straight. Bark on the trunk and main scaffold branches has cracks and is reddish. Petioles are medium-sized, few in number. Shoots are curved, medium-sized, thick, hairless, brown on the sunny side, greenish on the shaded side. Internode lengths are 2-30 mm. Petioles on shoots are present. Buds are single per node, medium-sized, conical, brown and dark brown, hairless, positioned at an angle of 35-40º relative to the shoot. Tree is tree-shaped. Fruit set is mixed — on flower clusters and one-year-old shoots. Leaves are elliptical, medium-sized, green. Edges are wavy, finely serrated. Leaf blade is hairless, concave, curved downward, base rounded, apex gradually transitions to a point. Leaf petiole is medium-sized (18-25 mm) in length and thickness, pigmented. Glands on petioles are small, two per petiole, round, purple. Flowers are medium-sized, bell-shaped, white, in fruit buds they are usually 5-6, sometimes 4.
Fruits are large (average weight 4.9 g), round, with slightly depressed apex, red or dark red. Peduncle is medium-sized in length and thickness, bare, attached to the fruit moderately. Skin is medium, dense. Flesh is red, fibrous, tender, very juicy, slightly sour-sweet, pleasant in taste. Juice is colored. Sensory taste evaluation is 4.5 points. Stone separates easily from flesh, yellowish, medium-sized. Variety is of universal use, fruits suitable for fresh consumption, making compotes and jams. Fruits contain 14.5% dry matter, 7.28% sugars, 1.15% acids, 14.37 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Self-fertile variety. Best pollinators — Rastunyaya, Lyubskaya. Trees begin fruiting in the 3rd-4th year after planting in the garden. Fruits ripen in the third decade of June. Distinguished by high yield. Average yield over 6 years for 8-13-year-old trees with planting spacing of 5 x 2 m was 94.5 centners/ha.
High winter hardiness. No damage to above-ground parts was observed, except for fruit buds. No disease damage observed.
Advantages of the variety: high fruit quality, good winter hardiness and high yield.
