Description
This variety was obtained by selection among seedlings of wild cherry from open pollination at the Siberian Institute of Horticulture named after M.A. Lisavensky. It was introduced into the State Register in 1985 for the Ural region. Authors: G.I. Subbotin, I.P. Kalinina.
The bush is medium-sized, up to 250 cm tall, multi-stemmed. The crown is pyramidal and moderately dense. The bark is light brown with a grayish coating, smooth, with grayish-white, large lenticels. Branches of medium thickness, straight, light brown. Internodes are short. Buds are conical and blunt. Leaves are large, oblong-oval, slightly pointed at the apex, with a rounded-triangular base. Leaf blade is smooth, glossy, dark green, flat, with fine double-toothed margin. Petiole is purple, glands are yellow, barely noticeable, stipules absent. Flowers are medium-sized, 2-5 per cluster, rose-white, 20-25 mm in diameter, petal shape oval-egg-shaped, 5-6 x 8-10 mm, buds rose-colored, sepals 4-5 x 5-6 mm, oval.
Fruits are medium-sized, oblong-round, 15 mm tall, 13 mm wide, average weight 3.8 g; red, single-colored. Flesh is firm, juicy, pink. Juice is pink. Pedicel is long, 4.0-5.0 mm, medium thickness 2.0-2.5 mm. Fruit flavor is sour-sweet. Fruit pedicel attachment is medium. Fruits contain 16.6% dry matter, 9.4% sugars, 1.1% acids, 0.13% tannins, 18.5 mg/100g vitamin C. Stone is medium-sized, oval, 0.18 g.
Best pollinators: Altai Lastochka, Selyverstovskaya, Subbotinskaya, Zheleznaya.
Fruits ripen in the third decade of July, transportability is medium. Shoots stop growing in the first decade of July, leaf fall ends in the second decade of October, heat-tolerant, drought-resistant. Average yield per bush is 4.1 kg, maximum 8.4 kg. The variety is winter-hardy, self-sterile, not resistant to coccomyces. It is selected for its yield and fruit size.
Advantages of the variety: high yield, large fruits.
Disadvantages: severely affected by coccomyces, can freeze to 3 degrees in harsh winters.
