Description
Variety of cherry selected by the Institute of Irrigated Horticulture named after M.F. Sidorenko of UAAN. Selected among seedlings from open pollination of the Zhukovskaya variety, growing among peach trees. Authors: V.A. Turovtseva and N.I. Turovtsev. Under state variety testing since 1995.
Medium-stature tree with rapid growth. Open, drooping crown of medium density. Predominant fruit placement on one-year shoots and bouquet branches. Bark on trunk and scaffold branches is flaky and gray. Shoots are thick, straight, brownish. Many large yellow stipules. Leaves medium-sized, elliptical, dark green, smooth, matte. Leaf blade flat, apex short-acuminate, base acuminate. Leaf margin serrated-toothed. Petioles short, deeply lobed, early falling. Petiole medium-sized, thick, pigmented. Stipules small, 2-3 per leaf, round, colored. Flowers double and triple, medium-sized, white.
Fruits large, weighing 6.5-7.0 g, round. Apex rounded. Base with indentation. Pit small and wide. Ventral suture barely noticeable. Pedicel medium-sized, easily separates from branch, attachment to pit strong. Fruit color dark red. Skin spots barely noticeable. Skin medium, easily peels off. Flesh light pink, tender, juicy. Juice light red. Pit medium-sized, round, free. Flavor sour-sweet. Taste evaluation of fresh fruits — 4.6 points. Fruits contain 14.9% dry matter, 7.0% sugars, 0.59% acids, and 9.9 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Enters fruiting in the 4th year after planting in orchards. Fruits ripen June 20-25, dessert type. Yield — 31 kg per 10-year-old tree.
