DONSKAYA KRASNOZERNAYA is a lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) variety characterized by a medium-maturing vegetation period ranging from 80 to 92 days, and resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought at the level of the standard Donskaya. The mass of 1000 seeds varies between 25 and 38 grams, and plant height reaches 32–54 cm. The leaflets have an elongated-oval shape, flowers are small and pink, usually two to three per inflorescence. The seeds are small, convex, dark pink in color without a pattern, while the cotyledons are colored with an orange hue.
The variety is distinguished by high yield: the average in the region is 15.8 centners per hectare, and in the Rostov region – 18.8 c/ha, which exceeds the standard Donskaya by 2.3 c/ha. The maximum registered yield reached 27.3 c/ha in 2017. Protein content can reach up to 30%, and culinary properties are rated as excellent, making this lentil a valuable product for the food industry.
DONSKAYA KRASNOZERNAYA also shows low susceptibility to powdery mildew in field conditions. Seeds are supplied with a seed certificate and a harvest purchase guarantee for the coming year; packaging is done in 50 kg bags or big bags, ensuring convenient storage and transportation.
