Description
Niva 95 belongs to the nummularia subgroup and is included in the state register for all cultivation zones of the crop. Resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought is above average – at the level of standard varieties. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 63 to 88 grams, and protein content in the grain is 24.7–28.3 %. Commercial and culinary qualities are close to classic varieties.
Average yield varies by region: in the West Siberian region – 5.6 c/ha, in the Lower Volga region – 12.2 c/ha, and in the Middle Volga and Central Black Earth regions – about 20 c/ha. A maximum yield of 22.3 c/ha was recorded in the Penza region in 1997. The variety is recognized as valuable in quality and is often used as a base for the production of groats and feed.
