Promin

Garlic variety "Promin" — an early-maturing winter Ukrainian variety, developed by the Kiev Experimental Station of the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and officially recommended in Ukraine since 1999. The vegetation period is approximately 95 days from the appearance of the first seedlings. The bulbs are round and slightly flattened, with a dry head weight of about 70 grams. Each head contains 4–5 large cloves, sometimes up to 6, which are easy and quick to clean. The garlic skin is dirty-white, and the cloves take on a pale-purple hue when fully dried. The garlic has a pleasant, sharp, distinctly garlic flavor. Variety "Promin" is distinguished by high frost resistance — it withstands winter temperatures down to -25°C even without snow cover, and is also resistant to drought and fusarium. It is adaptable to various soil types and suitable for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine. The garlic forms scapes and is intended for planting in autumn for winter storage. Yield under irrigation can reach 25–26 tons per hectare. Thanks to its high storability, the storage period can last up to one year, making it an excellent choice for commercial production and technical processing. The planting material of variety "Promin" consists of cloves from whole heads, which are the first generation grown from single cloves. Such planting garlic is of high quality and sorted by size for optimal sowing. It is widely used in the food industry, as a spice, and is suitable for all types of technical processing. Economically justified pricing and convenient delivery conditions across Ukraine make this variety accessible to farmers and gardeners.
