Description
Mid-season ripening variety, developed at the Southern Ural Research Institute of Fruit, Vegetable, and Potato Cultivation by crossing the varieties 'Smena' and 'Chelyabinsk Green'. Author: V.S. Ilyin. Registered in the State Register of Selection Achievements for use in the Ural region since 1999.
Medium-height, slightly spreading, dense bush. Growing shoots are medium-thick, light green, matte, hairless, slightly curved. Almost half the shoot, from the bottom towards the sun side, is lightly pinkish-tinted. Thorns are single, light green, medium length and thickness, slightly directed downward, weak, predominantly located in the lower part of the shoot.
Leaves are large and medium-sized, green, slightly shiny, medium density. Blade is weakly folded along the central veins of the lobes or straight, five-lobed, with medium or deep indentations. Lobes are pointed. The central lobe exceeds the lateral ones, with additional protrusions, long, medium width. Angle between central veins of lateral lobes is straight and acute; lateral lobes are widely spaced. Basal lobes are well-developed. Leaf base has a small notch, rounded or straight. Teeth are medium, pointed, not curled. Petiole is medium length and thickness, light green, slightly hairy. Buds are small or medium, deviated from the shoot, oval-shaped, pointed apex. Stipule trace is rounded.
Flowers are medium or small, cup-shaped, yellow-green, with a slight pinkish tint, arranged in two- to three-flowered inflorescences. Sepals are medium or long, medium width, perpendicular to the flower axis or slightly bent, yellow-green, with pink spots, sometimes pale yellow, not fused, pedicels are medium length and thickness, light green, slightly hairy.
Berries are medium to large (3.6–8.0 g), one-dimensional, pear-shaped, dark cherry-colored, with medium or thin skin, hairless. Seed quantity is medium. Receptacle is open, pedicel is long and green. Taste is tangy-sweet, pleasant, rated 5 points.
Cold-hardy, high-yielding variety; average multi-year yield is 12.0 t/ha, maximum — 23.0 t/ha (3.7–6.9 kg/plant). Self-fertile (42.4%), resistant to powdery mildew, weakly affected by anthracnose and sawflies.
Advantages of the variety: large berries, dessert taste, low thorniness of shoots, high yield.
Disadvantages of the variety: medium resistance to septoria.
