The success of controlling stubborn broadleaf weeds in grain and corn crops lies in the precise combination of two components: 2,4-D (in ester form) and bromoxynil. Technical Breakdown
- 2,4-D (systemic component): Acts as an auxin-like herbicide, causing metabolic disruption and abnormal tissue growth in weeds. The substance penetrates leaves quickly and translocates to growth points.
- Bromoxynil (contact component): Inhibits photosynthesis at the photosystem II level. This component "burns" the vegetative mass, providing a visual effect within hours of application.
