Developed by Adama Agan Ltd., Israel, "Calif Ke" is a selective systemic herbicide designed for pre-emergence application in winter rapeseed and soybean fields. The core active ingredient, clomazone, functions as a pigment synthesis inhibitor, effectively arresting the development of weed seedlings before they can emerge and compete with the crop.

Technical characteristics and performance

As a soil-applied (pre-emergence) herbicide, Calif Ke creates a protective layer in the topsoil. Its selectivity ensures that while key weeds are eliminated, the crop remains unharmed when recommended dosage rates are observed. The product’s efficacy is highly dependent on soil moisture, which helps stabilize the herbicide's position in the root zone.

• Target Weed Spectrum: High activity against Common lambsquarters, Shepherd's purse, Common chickweed, Cleavers, Ragweed, Purple deadnettle, Field pansy, and Velvetleaf.
• Application Strategy: Used as a pre-emergence treatment. A single application per season is sufficient to maintain a clean field during the critical early growth stage of the crop.
• Formulation: As a suspension concentrate, it offers excellent dispersion and stability in the spray tank, ensuring uniform coverage of the soil surface.

Practical Application Notes

The application rate ranges from 0.15 to 0.25 L/ha, depending on the specific soil type and weed pressure. Classified as a Hazard Class 3 product, it requires adherence to standard professional safety measures.
