A reliable contact herbicide that efficiently cleans pea fields from the toughest weeds in a single application.
Description
Reliable pea crop protection: field experience with Kovcheg herbicide
When weeds start to overrun pea fields, delays are too costly. We have incorporated Kovcheg (SL, bentazone, 480 g/l) into our protection strategy. It is a selective contact herbicide that, in our experience, treats the crop gently without causing stress while providing aggressive control over unwanted vegetation.
Field Performance:
The product works selectively. We apply it post-emergence when weeds are in the active growth phase (up to 4-6 true leaves). Kovcheg’s primary mechanism is the inhibition of photosynthesis. We’ve observed that problematic weeds such as common lambsquarters, pigweed, mustard, and ragweed begin to wilt just hours after the sprayer passes.
Practical application insights
- Application rates: We operate with a rate of 1.5–3 l/ha. It is critical to target the weed development phase to achieve maximum efficacy in a single pass.
- Weed spectrum: It performs excellently against cleavers, chamomile, shepherd's purse, and wild radish—the standard list of challenges we face during the season.
- Application technique: As a water-soluble concentrate, it mixes perfectly in the tank. We have encountered no issues with nozzles or filters when preparing the spray solution correctly.
Because this is a contact herbicide, coverage quality is paramount. We always ensure thorough leaf wetting, as that is when Kovcheg delivers its best visible results. As a post-emergence insurance herbicide, it is vital to apply it before the weeds exceed their sensitivity threshold.
Classified as a Hazard Class 3 product, it requires standard safety precautions. A single application per season is all that is typically needed to keep the field clean. The partnership between Shenzhen Noposion Agrochemicals and the local "Fabryka Ahrokhimikativ" results in a consistent and effective product that behaves predictably in the field, making life easier for any agronomist.

Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |
