A selective, contact-based post-emergence herbicide designed to control tough broad-leaved weeds in soybean, maize, and cereal crops.
Description
Mechanism of Action and Selectivity
GRINFORT BZ 480 RK is a contact post-emergence herbicide containing 480 g/L of bentazone. Unlike systemic herbicides that migrate through the plant's transport systems, bentazone acts by inhibiting electron transport in photosystem II directly at the site of contact. Selectivity is achieved because target crops—such as soybeans, maize, peas, and cereals—possess the ability to rapidly metabolize bentazone into non-toxic derivatives, whereas susceptible weeds are unable to detoxify the agent, leading to a complete cessation of photosynthesis and eventual death.
Technical Application Notes
The soluble concentrate formulation ensures rapid dissolution in the spray tank and uniform coverage of leaf surfaces. Since this is a contact herbicide, the success of the application is highly dependent on spray quality: utilizing nozzles that produce fine-to-medium droplet sizes is essential for effective coverage of complex weed species, such as ragweed (Ambrosia) or common purslane.
- Target Weed Stage: The herbicide is most effective when applied at the 2–4 leaf stage, when the metabolic activity of the weeds makes them most vulnerable to photosynthetic disruption.
- Environmental Conditions: The ideal temperature range for application is between +15°C and +25°C. As a contact agent, it requires a rain-free window of 4–6 hours after application to ensure full absorption.
- Usage Protocol: The product is labeled for a single application per season, with a dosage rate ranging from 1.5 to 3 liters per hectare, depending on weed pressure. The pre-harvest interval is set at 30 days.
Developed through a collaborative effort between TRUSTCHEM (China) and AgroMaxi (Ukraine), GRINFORT BZ 480 RK provides a robust solution for controlling broad-leaved weeds like redroot pigweed, field mustard, and shepherd's purse, tailored to the requirements of professional agricultural management.

By type of action
Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |
