The efficacy of the herbicide "Dikameron V.R." is based on the combination of two active molecules: dicamba and chlorsulfuron. Unlike single-component solutions, this formulation disrupts two critical pathways of weed metabolism simultaneously. Dicamba acts as an auxin-type growth regulator, causing leaf curling and cell division arrest in broad-leaved weeds, while chlorsulfuron inhibits the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, inevitably stopping the synthesis of essential amino acids.

Technical breakdown of the composition

• Dicamba (benzoic acid derivative): provides rapid 'knockdown' activity. The substance is highly systemic, moving through the leaf tissue and distributing throughout the entire plant, including the root system, which is crucial for controlling perennial species.
• Chlorsulfuron (sulfonylurea): ensures long-term protective effects. It possesses residual soil activity, which allows it to suppress secondary flushes of weeds. Due to the minimal dosage required to shut down weed metabolism, the product remains highly selective for winter cereals.

Practical application insights

The soluble concentrate formulation ensures rapid preparation of the spray solution and stability within tank mixes. Being a selective systemic post-emergence herbicide, it integrates perfectly into crop protection protocols for winter wheat and barley. When applied to foliage, the product is rapidly absorbed by the cuticle, ensuring quick rainfastness.

It is important to consider the toxicity class (Class 3, moderately hazardous) when scheduling field operations and to strictly adhere to application guidelines. As a systemic product, its performance is highly dependent on the growth stage of the weeds; the best results are achieved when applied during active vegetative growth, specifically before they exceed the 2–4 leaf stage.
