The Eliot, OD (Oil Dispersion) herbicide is based on a combination of three powerful components: nicosulfuron, mesotrione, and triketone. This formulation allows for targeting weeds through several metabolic pathways simultaneously. Nicosulfuron, as an ALS inhibitor, blocks the synthesis of essential amino acids, while mesotrione and triketone inhibit photosynthesis and carotenoid production. In practice, this means even overgrown weeds stop competing with corn for light and moisture just hours after absorbing the solution.

Oil Dispersion: adhesion technology

The Oil Dispersion (OD) form is a technical solution designed to increase the preparation's penetration capability. Unlike standard emulsion concentrates, the oil base allows the herbicide to more effectively "wet" the waxy layer of weeds. This is critical when working in drought conditions or when weeds have already developed a dense protective cuticle. Droplets of the solution stay on the leaf longer without rolling off, ensuring deep penetration of active substances into the plant's systemic flow.

Application specifics for corn

Eliot selectively affects weeds while keeping the crop safe due to corn's high level of metabolic resistance to these specific components.

• Systemic action: complete field clearing of grasses (including perennial species like couch grass and Johnsongrass) and a wide spectrum of broadleaf weeds.
• Control: selectivity allows application during the corn development phase up to 8 leaves.
• Consumption: with a rate of 1.0 to 2.0 L/ha, the product demonstrates stable results, minimizing the need for multiple machine passes.

It is important to remember that hazard class 3 requires standard safety precautions when handling crop protection products. A single seasonal application allows you to completely resolve the issue of field infestation, freeing up resources for the development of the main crop.
