Uncompromising sunflower field cleanliness through the synergy of dual active ingredients.
Description
A Technological Breakthrough in Sunflower Protection
The Clearfield® production system has revolutionized modern agronomy, and Euro-Lightning® by BASF S.A. remains its cornerstone. Produced in Brazil, this herbicide offers the consistent performance that allows farmers to rethink their approach to field weed management. It does more than just eliminate weeds; it eliminates the competition for water and nutrients during the plant's most critical growth stages.
A Dual Strike Against Weeds
The formula’s uniqueness lies in the synergy of two active ingredients: imazamox and imazapyr. This combination, belonging to the imidazolinone group, provides powerful systemic action by penetrating both the foliage and the root system. Unlike narrow-spectrum herbicides, Euro-Lightning® is highly effective against a broad range of aggressive weeds:
- Broadleaf annuals: common lambsquarters, redroot pigweed, field mustard, common ragweed, and black nightshade.
- Grassy species: green foxtail and common barnyard grass.
- Climbing species: cleavers.
Field Application and Efficiency
Euro-Lightning® is a selective post-emergence herbicide. Its key advantage is application flexibility: a single pass per field at a rate of 1.0 to 2.0 L/ha is sufficient to achieve optimal results. As a water-soluble concentrate, it is easy to prepare and remains stable in tank mixes.
Important note: This product is designed exclusively for sunflower hybrids resistant to the Clearfield® system. By adhering to the label (one application per season), agronomists ensure a clean field without the need for secondary treatments, significantly reducing production costs and machinery overhead.

Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |
