A reliable systemic herbicide that effectively clears fields of ragweed and bindweed while keeping the crop stress-free.
Description
Effective weed control with systemic action
When dealing with persistent weeds like field bindweed or common ragweed, standard solutions often fall short. In my field practice, I rely on Forit by Defenda for winter wheat, barley, and corn crops. It is a selective systemic herbicide that works by penetrating deep into the weed’s tissues, reaching the root system rather than just burning the surface.
Application and field performance
As an emulsifiable concentrate, Forit is convenient to prepare. It mixes well in the tank and does not clog sprayer nozzles, which is a huge plus during a busy spraying schedule. As a post-emergence (insurance) herbicide, it is designed for leaf application, providing an excellent tool to manage weed competition during the crop’s critical growth stages.
- Dosage: typically between 0.5 and 1.0 l/ha, depending on weed density.
- Spectrum: highly effective against common lambsquarters, common chickweed, and catchweed bedstraw.
- Usage: limited to one application per season.
While the product is classified as a Category 3 hazard and requires standard safety precautions, its selectivity is its greatest strength. The crops continue to grow without suffering stress, while the herbicide systematically eliminates unwanted competition. It is a straightforward, reliable choice for farmers who need to clear fields quickly and efficiently without compromising crop health.
