Professional weed control: our experience with Nikogan MD

When dealing with weed infestation in corn fields, relying on systemic action is a must. We use Nikogan MD by ADAMA because it acts where it matters—deep inside the plant. Unlike contact herbicides that only affect the surface, the nicosulfuron in this formula translocates throughout the weed, effectively neutralizing both the foliage and the root system of perennial grasses like quackgrass.

Field Application and Performance

The oil dispersion (OD) formulation is a major upgrade for field operators. It provides excellent spreading and adhesion on leaf surfaces, reducing runoff and increasing absorption efficiency even under less-than-ideal environmental conditions. We typically operate within a range of 1.0 to 2.0 L/ha. Since it is a post-emergence selective herbicide, it allows us to wait and see exactly which weeds emerge before making the final decision on the rate.
