Triple protection for corn fields against grass and broadleaf weeds before they emerge.
Description
Synergy of three components: how Sintmezo SE works
Successful corn protection in the early stages of development depends entirely on controlling the "first wave" of weeds. Sintmezo SE from the Polish manufacturer Synthos Agro sp. zo.o is a high-tech pre-emergence herbicide designed to block competition from grass and broadleaf weeds before they even reach the soil surface.
Technical analysis of the formula
The key feature of this product is the combination of three active ingredients from different chemical classes, which eliminates resistance issues and ensures a wide spectrum of action:
- S-metolachlor: creates a "protective screen" in the topsoil layer, blocking the development of the root system of germinating grass weeds.
- Mesotrione (triketone): systemically penetrates the plant and blocks the synthesis of carotenoids, leading to chlorosis and the death of broadleaf pests.
- Terbuthylazine (triazines): responsible for disrupting photosynthesis in weeds, complementing the effect of mesotrione and providing long-lasting control.
Practical application aspects
The formulation as a suspension concentrate ensures the stability of the working solution and uniform distribution during spraying. As a selective systemic herbicide, Sintmezo SE is engineered to target weeds while maintaining crop safety when used according to the guidelines.
With a dosage of 3–4 l/ha, the herbicide provides reliable results when applied pre-emergence. Since it is designed for a single application per season, adhering to the recommended rate allows the formation of a barrier sufficient to keep corn safe during its most vulnerable growth stages, free from weed competition.

By type of action
Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |

Herbicides are classified according to application timing into pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides. Pre-emergent herbicides are mostly soil-applied or granular formulations applied before the emergence of crop plants. They are applied either pre-sowing (during pre-sowing cu... |
